PRINCIPAL'S WELCOME NOTE
My name is Christine Watson and I am the Principal of Shukrani International College of Business Management and Administration (SICBMA). I am an Australian and love working in Tanzania. I have been here in Mbeya since January 2004. My husband David supports me in the work of the college.
I have worked as a teacher in Australia for quite a few years. First in primary schools and later as a teacher of English to students from other countries where English is not spoken. I am also a trained pastor, and have the rank of Major within the Salvation Army, and have worked for many years as a pastor, alongside my husband.
Since the foundation of the college in 1995, the motto has been “Quality Education and Services”. I have embraced this motto and along with the college team we do our best to deliver education of a high standard.
We have a policy of encouraging staff to continue with their studies and to develop their skills as professionals.
We encourage English speaking on the college compound by all students, and our aim is that our graduates will be able to communicate confidently in the English language.
We are a Christian college with The Salvation Army, so we are keen that our behaviour and atitudes reflect our Christian beliefs.
We seek to be internationally recognised by offering our students the opportunity to gain qualifications with the UK based City and Guilds education network and Association of Business Managers and Administrators (ABMA).
We also offer locally recognised certificates and diplomas through our registrations with NACTE and VETA.
We do our best to make the college attractive with lovely gardens and good classrooms. We want all aspects of the college to give glory to God!
We hope you can join us, and begin your journey towards a
successful career.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
